This Final Fantasy II Turbo hack aims to minimize the time spent waiting between gameplay-relevant interactions, while leaving the original game’s core gameplay intact.

The floowing improvements have been implemented in to this hack

– Mandatory cutscenes and gameplay-relevant optional events (eg. Odin) are cut down almost entirely, to their barest essential changes. (Gameplay-irrelevant events, such as dancers, are left intact.)

– The player dashes on the map by default (hold Y to walk).

– New games default to battle speed 1 and battle message speed 1.

– Menu animations are sped up.

– Battles play out at normal speed but most in-battle event messages have been removed.

– Various other animations (mostly vehicles) have been shortened.

When you download this hack the download will contain a .ips file (Not a ROM file), This .ips file is a patch which you need to apply to the original ROM in order to be able to play the hacked game. The easiest thing to do is copy the .ips file in to the same folder as the original ROM and make sure the .ips and .rom file have the same name, for example

  • Final Fantasy II Turbo.ips
  • Final Fantasy II Turbo.rom

Now launch your emulator and then open the ROM and you should be able to play the hack. If the hack does not load you will need to patch the ROM file with the IPS file.
