Conkers High Rule Tail ROM Hack

Conker’s High Rule Tail was developed using the Zelda Link to the past game as the frame work and took complete overhaul which took the developers around eight years to complete (YES 8 YEARS).

The developers have done a great job with this game, creating a new world to explorer as new dungeons with amazing puzzles just like in the Zelda games, new items, upgrades, graphics as well as ten different characters to play as.

This hack does a good job to capture the feel of a conker’s game as well as including many references to well known games and movies.  The intro to the game is done in a star wars theme with the yellow writing scrolling up with a space background.
Conkers High Rule Tail Intro

I played this game for a few hours and I really enjoyed it.  The difficulty of this game is similar to the original Zelda link to the past, The star wars intro is a great way to start the game.  In my opinion this game is almost as good as the Zelda parallel worlds hack and is a must play for any Zelda fan.

Question : I have Downloaded The ROM Hack But What Do I Do Next?
Answer : Watch this video for instructions on what to do. When you download this hack the download will contain a .ips file (Not a ROM file), This .ips file is a patch which you need to apply to the original ROM in order to be able to play the hacked game.  The easiest thing to do is copy the .ips file in to the same folder as the original ROM and make sure the .ips and .rom file have the same name, for example

  • Conker’s High Rule Tail.ips
  • Conker’s High Rule Tail.rom

Now launch your emulator and then open the ROM and you should be able to play the hack.  If the hack does not load you will need to patch the ROM file with the IPS file.
