Chrono Trigger Devolution More Information

In case you ever felt like Chrono Trigger could use some funny moments in place of its serious nature, Chrono Trigger Devolution may be the hack for you. Devolution takes the plot of the original game and sets it aside in favor of comedic hijinks that wouldn’t be out of place from skits aimed at teens and newly grown adults. It’s not meant to be taken seriously, and it knows that.

There are a lot more nuttier gags than there are clever tidbits, but Chrono Trigger Devolution tickles the funny bone however it may be able to throughout the venture. The characters have personalities that differ greatly from the original, but in a way that surprises fans by subverting expectations. After all, the basic idea of this hack is that Crono and co. are out to take over the entire world. That alone is pretty nutty!

That said, you may want to be familiar with the original game before hopping into this one. It may have references or jokes that could only be truly understood if one were to have played Chrono Trigger prior to this. That’s not to say you can’t enjoy it otherwise; it would simply be beneficial. Whatever the case may be, you’ll get some off-the-wall enjoyment from this hack.
