Asterix & Obelix is a 1995 action game that was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment system. Players can pick to play as both Obelix or Asterix in this action packed game developed by Infogrames France S.A.S

This is strictly a side scrolling game and it begins with Asterix in a village and the games take players to places like the forest fighting off the Romans. After making further progress, the player will get a message from Britain and will have to cross the sea.

There are a few places where the game takes place and these include Hispania, Britania, Grecia, Egyptia and Helvetia. The goal of the game is to guide Obelix or Asterix through every levels until they both each the end. Both characters are playable and can attack the Romans, jump as well as run.

R : Allows to scroll the screen to the right
A : Punch, validate the option
B : Jump asterix, validate the option

Answer : Yes it is illegal.  Nintendo have posted the following on there website “whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet”  which makes it clear that downloading ROMS is completely illegal.  A lot of people say this is a grey area, Some say as long as you own Asterix & Obelix on the SNES you can download and play the ROM as a backup to the physical media, this is not true.  Nintendo see ROMS as a threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers.
