Alien 3 (SNES) Gameplay

Alien 3 is a 1992 action game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment system based on the film of the same name. The game was developed by Probe Entertainment and published by Arena Entertainment.

Players play as Ripley and must defend themselves against hordes of aliens in every level and find their way to the exit. While doing that, the player must also save prisoners along the way and complete the level before the timer runs out. Weapons in the game are many and these include flame throwers, hand grenades, pulse rifle and grenade launcher.

A fire breaks out in the chamber where Ripley is sleeping causing her to be place in an Emergency Escape Vehicle which is heading into space. While there, it crash land on the planet Florina “Fury” 161. This planet houses a maximum security prison however, Ripley finds out that the prison has been taken over by aliens.

Question : Is It Illegal To Download and Play a ROM of Alien 3 ?
Answer : Yes it is illegal.  Nintendo have posted the following on there website “whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet”  which makes it clear that downloading ROMS is completely illegal.  A lot of people say this is a grey area, Some say as long as you own Alien 3 on the SNES you can download and play the ROM as a backup to the physical media, this is not true.  Nintendo see ROMS as a threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers.
